A year and a half here has softened me to the idiosyncrasies of this island nice and good, but there is much to be seen my friends, and every now and again it comes at me full force that I am just beginning island life.

My GeGe is not doing well, she’s being moved to the next level floor for “bat-shit crazy”.

These days I have little time to write about living on my island, because of all the living I am doing. 
 

I know, I know, everyone is DYING to know if we made it to carnival and if I've overcome my twerking handicap.

We just signed another year lease, gone is the lie of being down here for just a year and then moving to southern California, a truth no one but us really believed anyway. 

Christmas is over and the New Year has moved in on this beautiful island. Our first holiday season was rich with celebration, love, and inclusion. 

SO we are now over a half of a year here on this beautiful paradise, winter has well set in for my hometown in Illinois, and day by day friendships and relationships fade back home and new ones bloom here.

Yesterday we hit the half year mark. We are officially living here, a half of a year, that is living, right? 

Okay, just now, it has hit me, it is autumn, and everything is remaining the same. 

Weird.

It's really easy to accidentally fall into the trap of "what will so and so think if I write this or that", I fall fast into it, all the time, mainly because my ego is the size of Texas, and I am a people pleaser, talk about a perfect storm for writers block
